I will say this, in the TV show Carl is pretty much a useless background character for a lot of the time on the farm. But that's the fault of the brutal pacing of those episodes. They dragged that shit out way too long.

I wouldn't say it sucked, I still enjoyed the show but I can see where it lost people. I like a slow build story wise. Hell I thought TDKR could've used another 15-30 minutes.
