Bullshit..if you are in the Military or on Federal Government assignment, you are still under US laws, and can and will be charged if they so wish.

And with the Patriot Act, I believe that was extended to any US citizens, but may not be correct on that.

Military can be brought under all 3. The UCMJ, the laws of the country, and US federal laws. Civilian gov contractors can be brought under the countries local laws and Federal laws. Seen it happen first hand.

Like I said, I am not sure on regular citizens, I know they were trying to do that, specifically bringing terror charges under Federal law to US citizens in foreign countries.
