Well they do in the Military. but the civilian version do not have full auto, or 3 rnd auto burst, like the M4 has I don't think, they are illegal to own.
So then it's not an M4 really right? What is it civilian wise? Or is the M4 not fully auto? Maybe I will get one of them instead of a 15. How much they runnin?
It's not a true M4, they are three round burst/semi where as mine is semi-auto only. The size and weight is the same though. My wife picked mine up gently used for 650.00 from our local gun shop, check out gunbroker dot com if you find a deal you like you can have it transferred to a local shop for a nominal fee.

I'll hit up one of the many gun shows we have here. They have everything, and usually good deals. So is it called an AR-4 or what?

It's not illegal to own a full auto, you just have to pay the price of the gun (usually very high) plus the NFA stamp & paperwork fees(about a 6 month wait) and its yours.
