Brent doesn't want to tick off the Sirius management anymore than they have
of course they never will go back there
Sirius is offering NOTHING - claiming the exposure is payment enough
and bubba doesnt want to work that way

I don't think that's the whole story. Not saying you're wrong about him not wanting to piss off Sirius XM, but when Gene cracked a joke about Jews the other day Brent flipped out.

Probably. Wherever he does it there will be a backlash. But in true Bubba style, he wants to do it where the biggest audience will be listening.

He wants to show he knows better than the people at Cox, knowing full well it could get him canned.

This is just my opinion and I could be talking out my ass, but it seems to me, deep down on a subconscious level, he wants to be fired from FM radio. He's fed up with it and perhaps thinks he could cut a deal where he could collect on the rest of his contract in exchange for sitting out FM radio for what's left on it. Meanwhile he can just do the dirt track and IO stuff. But who knows what a court would say in regards to his contract or if they had a legitimate reason to fire him because he didn't break any FCC regulations or do anything he was explicitly told not to in his contract.

I think it's a terrible idea and have said so numerous times on here. We can't do anything besides wait it out.

I'm glad someone thinks so. But seriously, it fits in with the rants about being sick of radio, and lord knows the IO content would improve greatly if it was four hours of them fresh and not having done another show beforehand. But I don't want to see them lose their main gig. I think this is an attempt to "go out with a bang." Plus if the story sees a lot of attention, who benefits from it? RadioIO since everyone will want to tune in to hear what he has to say and that's the only place to do so. RadioIO won't suffer the same backlash because it's not a huge corporation that people will give enough of a fuck about to mess with if Bubba is already off the public airwaves.

But it's just a crackpot theory not to be taken seriously.
