      • outside of a direct line to the servers which would cost fucking thousands - there's no way you can guarantee no net troubles from ANY connection...

Bullshit. We have 2-70M connections between Tampa and Orlando, a 40M connection to Little Rock and a 60M connection Raleigh NC, all over metro ethernet service with Time Warner.

Was cheaper than our T1 circuits!

            • Thank you Spice for answering my criticizm of the FM show... he said they couldn't do it like they did before, like asking him how they are shaved.

That makes 100% more sense to me.

Most stations have T-1's to send whole voice tracked shifts to in company stations.

Maybe like a 10M circuit between BRN and IO, absolutely. We first put in a 10M to Orl and it was about half of what our T-1 was.

And those lines have a 0 signal interruption right? I mean theres no transmission breaks at all?
I give my vcash to Nigerian princes.

                    • yeah but that's t1 to the net right?

that's not t1 to where your sending data - the net can route your t1 down lines that are shitty and then you don't get full speed

I was meaning a direct line like the old days from one machine to another... they used to cost 1000's a foot

Honestly I think Bubba would be best off with an ISDN line from the studio to IO. It is not subject to the packet loss problems that a internet connection might have.

Only when there is an outage, nut normally no. We run IP telephony, video, data, across them 24 hrs a day.

Voice/Data are extremely intolerant of delay/jitter/ and of course drops.
