Yeah, really. Says a lot for Bubba's chances to continue on with Cox, unless it's for almost nothing.

There is no cross promotion. 97x is a local station and drew's show isn't in syndication. Cox doesn't gain anything by drew talking to people outside their markets. They can't market sparse people across the country to their advertising sales, they can only work with the markets they are in. From a business point of view with no radio knowledge factored in, cox would gain nothing by letting him do that show.

Maybe in the small mindedness of radio people that still think it is all about this market only. But a lot of Bubba's fans, or IO fans, are also the type that just may tune into 97X type stations...using the internet like a LOT of people listen to now a days. Just like the Bone does, they run dif advertising on FM as compared to the internet.

How does it not make good sense to get free exposure for your new morning guy and maybe pick up some new listeners that are not aware Drew is on every morning and can be listened to on the net?

Not like IO would tell him he couldn't plug his FM show.

And make them go back to what there intended purpose is, which is managing frequency spectrum and signal rates, not controlling or policing content!

Because they are a local focused station, they can't market outside market listeners to inside market advertisers. Now if they had no fear of Internet radio and were forward thinking they'd let him do the show.

That's why the best way to fix the problem the fastest is via the chicago way. Have people enforcing be selective about the enforcement.
