Then I would go to a store that has a range and try a few different ones to see what suits you.

Like I personally like a heavier one, like my Sig and Czheck one over sumthin lite like a Glock. For me the lighter they are, the worse it is to retarget between shots, so I am more accuate with rapid fire with heavier ones.

Some folks prefer lighter. So I would just try out a few and see what is comfortable before you buy.

Also, don't get sumthin like a 10mm, as Ammo can be hard to find and expensive, whereas 9mm, .40 cal rounds are everywhere.

true i have Stoeger couger 8040 .40s&w it's heavy but i like it. hold a lot of gun and find one that fits and feels good in your hand....
