On a much larger scale, but again you are correct. I think Bubba's situation is much easier to correct than that of the old US of A.

yeah, Bubba himself can correct his situation...but I think he is blind to it meself.

Our country, too many douches in control that will almost guarantee the demise of our country..maybe not in our lifetime..but not long after is my guess.

      • Everyone please chime in with suggestions to help the BRN. I'll start off. Stop pouring money into things with little to no ROI (i.e cream machine) Also, do you really need a new mansion? Isn't 5,000 sq/ft enough for 4 people (two of which only live there part time). I would love to hear other suggestions because it seems as though things are more dire at the BRN than we probably thought...

        • He's not going anywhere on FM for a while. Worst case scenario would be him being only on in Tampa, he's an institution there. And it's not a bad place to be, people tend to forget it's the #20 Arbitron market. I think Fort Myers and Charleston are doing fine as well last I heard.

And if radioIO declared bankruptcy someone would come along and buy them out no doubt. But I think it's a bit silly how people are now thinking Io World Media is in some sort of trouble when they're pretty much doing better than they were before. It's a d list internet radio service that never turned a profit.

Me too. That really shook me up.

Exhibit A: Bubba said himself, no one at Cox has even mentioned contract renewals..what has been discussed is shitty ratings.

              Exhibit B: See exhibit A:

How is that different than usual though? Cox could be like Sirius is and be leaving shit to the last minute. They're not going to start talking about a new contract in fucking June.

I hope you're right, Chob. I kind of gave up on Bubba after 2007 because I could not STAND the terrestrial show Mon-Thu, and let's face it, the Friday shows were not lighting it up either.

Now he's on RadioIO, they have a lot to prove here, and calls from Benny and Dave aside, I've been liking the uncensored show a lot. I like a lot of the side programming, too. Tonight's show, with Scott Legere, is a good example. The dude puts on a compelling show. Very interesting, and ONLY available here.

I just don't want to see things tank for lack of funds, bad management, etc. It's early days, and fragile ones. They need to get, and keep, their legs under them and grow this bitch. There's nothing on radio I'd like to see more than for RadioIO, and Bubba, to be the goddamned cream of the crop in 3-5 years, the place where radio TALENT wants to be, and the one place that had that talent PROMINENTLY in the budget (unlike Sirius).

I don't know anything about his financials to make a real analysis. But to me, ALL this ancillary shit he does, that he calls promotion, should be cut out. Spend it on real promotion!!

How many billboards in how many cities could he have got for what he paid for that cream machine? I have no idea as to what billboards cost, but he is up to about $40 G on that truck. How much has that made a difference? He takes it where people who listen to him see it. Except the fair. Then he sold his Chicken dip!! How much did that promote the show? none.. people who saw it already know his show is on!!

I don't know. Bubba is a pretty smart biz dude, but things he does seems his priorities are too scattered IMO!!

I don't know what their situation is well enough to tell them to do anything. The only thing I'd recommend is the one thing I've been bitching about for years and that is them improving their web presence and hiring a professional.

You would think Cox would want to wrap him up asap, but they may be taking the wait and see approach. I would not be suprised to see him lose an affiliate or two here in the near future. If that is true Cox will have bargaining power over him. Plus there's nowhere else to go because you know cheap channel will never take him back.

knowing that these contract taks take forever, and Bubba saying as such, would you not think Cox would at least say we hear you, we will plan on talks soon? Nope nuthin!! According to Bubba!

And with Bubba constantly saying how he can't wait til he can do IO only, etc etc, that isn't going to come into their negotiations? Ur right, they will do like Sirius, and lowball the shit out of him...take it or leave it!!

First smart web related decision he's made. Although the Bubba Raw redesign deserves props as well, but he had nothing to do with it. Not only Bubba Raw, but look at the BRP website. They have the capability to put something decent looking together, but they just can't seem to do it with the mess of shit that is btls.com.
