Bubba Army Radio Listening Thread 3/21-3/25

Would you guys say that Bubba extending the oliv branch to O&A, almost mirrors howard extending the oliv branch to him? think about it:



howard talked smack about Bubba when they were on regular radio, saying he'd never want to work in the same industry as a bubba the Love Sponge. Bubba returned fire.
Bubba got screwed over by Clear Channel, Howard hired him to help him with his channels.
Once on Satellite, Bubba tore into O&A like a vegetarian at a salad bar, O&A returned fire.
O&A's company is screwing with them now, Bubba is extending the oliv branch to them.



however, I don't think they'll go for it. Not saying that it can't or won't happen, just my opinion that Bubba befriending O&A might be just a pipe dream. plus, look at how rabid the fans are for the respective shows, I'm not sure if they could coe exist. having said all that, I very well could be wrong, and if so, I'll gladly eat my words with a side order of hot wings.

It won't happen with those two. O&A have enough tech savvy friends that they can do their own thing. Plus they would never want to bow down to Bubba in a manner of speaking.

Ellis is a little more likely but still a bit of a longshot. Ellis has Ellismania and uses his beef with Bubba to get attention and attract disgruntled ex-Bubba listeners, like O&A did with ex-Stern fans. Ellis not only took shots at Bubba but the fan base as well (as have O&A actually). It's going to be tough to get some people to look past that.

I think it's ambitious of them but radioIO still looks like an amateur production when they botched the redesign, don't protect the Bubba Two stream because they use freeware, still have very blatant errors on the site, and all in all don't give off the image of a company that's been in this a decade. Their customer service is great and their programmers are passionate, but shit has to work. I don't put any of that on Spice and Bubba.

They're being smart courting O&A and Ellis, but at the moment they're more likely to get the likes of Kidd Chris and others that don't currently have a gig. With that said, if we had vBookie up, I'd bet of Ferrall coming over at the end of his contract.

I'd love to see Ferrall do this. Would make for some interesting speculation at that point too, with a Don Buchwald-rep'd client at radioio.com.

Anyone with a Mac and Audio Hijaak Pro can caption any audio they can listen to on their system, then do what they want with it. The issue isn't making the stream (and the archives) absolutely secure. That's impossible. The issue is that they are doing next to nothing to ensure that non-subscribers are prohibited from accessing Bubba 2 and the rest of the premium content on radioio.com. They need to put in at least some basic credential authentication, and not use easily predictable, static URLs to the pay content.

They'll get this done, eventually.

it's not that hard.... just put in authentication before you can stream - via a secure socket connection I would imagine....
