As it stands (as far as I know), they have not. The next big thing was the Constellation program. That program is in shambles right now between lack of direction and previous/impending budget cuts. I don't think it is planned to be ready until 2016 for test, if not further out now. The government is hoping private industry steps up and comes up with something. So far, only a few have shown interest.

To sum it up, after the shuttle program ends, we are fucked as far as manned space travel goes. We will be hitchhiking with the Russians for years.

From what I've seen most replacement palsn are similar to the capsules of Orion and Apollo. Seems going backward to me. Lockheed has one that is similar to a crew deal like the shuttle, but takes off from a rocket like the capsules and freefalls and uses chutes to stop it's decent. Again seems going backward to me.

yeah... but what did we lose, 2 shuttles?
not to mention all the complications with missing tiles, etc..

I don't think you can unless it's named clearly that purchasing a sub gives you stock...
