I agree with part of what you said. It would be good to see more kids who normally wouldn't play now play, but the soccer concussion deal isn't even in the same galaxy as youth football. I've been around youth soccer for some years now and only now that my daughter is playing U14 are they even teaching basic headers and in a game you'll be surprised to see more than a few with maybe one or two coming from a corner kick in an entire season. I'm sure they happen, but I guarantee you not nearly as often as in tackle football.

I'm not sure if it's the less glamorous sport here in the US. Not sure of the numbers but i'm thinking the amount of people in college on a soccer ride is low. MLS players don't make shit, don't have guaranteed contracts, and you'd have to pay a King's ransom to get a player from a Club team. Only the real greats, Beckham for instance, has been able to make his money and come to the US.
