Double bass is tough. Never really saw the need. Metal isn't my thing.

I'm kinda the same way - although I do like metal - I prefer punk and just alternative rock... Metal gets kinda boring to play after a while too

I'm self taught - which means I suck - and I just got double bass pedals a year ago? but I still can't pound them like these metal guys do - I swear you gotta be on meth to play double bass or be a marathon runner first

Don't try the speed try just keeping time ,get a metronome and repeat, soon you
will get faster and faster .I'll ask my buddy if he knows any online drills you can do or get.

Believe it or not ,it will get you where you want to get . That was the cool thing about knowing a drummer ,i got tips and free lessons from him .
