That is a misconception. They just have incredible power, like 2000 psi or sumthing it takes a breaking stick to open their jaws. Then they pop right open. If they locked, like a gator does, a stick wouldn't do shit.

Or you can drown em, like these folks I knew had to do!! A male and a female "locked" on a bull that got in their yard. They led the bull down to this stream. After a few minutes the dogs let go!!

I agree on the chows!! They are mean!! Although I had a nice mix chow. It was like shepherd, staffordshire, and chow mix!! He was a good guard dog, yet nice!!

True, that was my point earlier about crossbred. Not only with other breeds, but also other bloodlines that don't mix well. I'm sure you know what I mean about those.
