Damn Milk, you're a bold dude. But I think the point is that everyone makes jugdement calls that are pertinent to the individual situation. Not all injuries warrant the same response, just my thoughts as a parent myself. Plus I might add, sometimes the EMT can better " soothe" an injured child.

I disagree I worked for a few ambulance companies unless its a life or death situation its just a real expensive taxi ride.

I never said he made the wrong decision Ace, I said if it was someone else he would be saying what a shitty parent they were for not getting the kid to the hospital as fast as possible! No big deal really! I sure wouldn't wait for an ambulance for something like that!

Funny you mention "soothe" Ace. A few months ago a little girl broke her arm at the soccer field in the little jungle gym near the parkng lot and the EMT rolls up and says "whoa yeah, that's broken" right in front of the girl and her family. I just and let them take over stabilization and I moved on.

Everyone forgetting that stupid ambulance driver who called Spice's show last week and basically admitted she's negligent in her duties?

Sure, roll the dice if you want.

Consider which is more likely to slow down for a bump in the road: A loving parent or an hourly wage making ambulance driver who can do as much for a broken arm as you can with a little basic first aid knowledge?

Again though, I would have to be there to really make a decision one way or another. I'm not saying "don't ever call an ambulance or you're wasting resources"

Then again, I do know first aid pretty well, would have immobilized my kids arm and took off for the hospital. As I had to do for broken arms, legs, hands, feet! Boys hurt themselves a lot, especially doing stuff like motocross, football, etc.

I probably would use my civilian and military first aide training and do the same I almost bet Cap remember his first aide training also

I held a secondary MOS in the Army of Combat Medic, but I don't go around tryng to save the world, I happened across the girl on the jungle gym on the way to my car. That EMT was from Americare aka "Ameriscare" because of their general unprofessional attitude and perception most have of them. Was it not Public Enemy who said "911 is a joke"...
