I think they were already trying to get rid of bob on Mis Men at that point (I can't remember though for sure) and sirius probably saw it as an opportunity to make 2 shows from 1 and fill the empty space.

Though the theory that it's all bullshit is probably closer to accurate

Having a six figure income is nice, knowing bills will be paid. But a lot of people I know with them get in debt up to their eyeballs, then are miserable fucks. Yet they act like they are all that etc.

But not having an income currently and having my wife is worth more to me!
