It's probably, no, I know it's wrong of me not to consider people from upstate NY actual "New Yorkers", completely different breed IMO... and this is coming from a born and raised "New Yorker". Upstate was always the "country" to me and the place I looked forward to visiting to get the hell out of the city. I always found myself more comfortable upstate than in the city.

It has its moments. Lots of nice country around here. I really miss my old house. Well the house was a piece of shit, but the property was nice.

I went to a place called Gloversville a while back Cpt., and ate at a Friendly's there. I saw a guy, I presume not ironically, wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots.

I've been there. One of my favorite memories as a small child was going to the dairy farm down the road from my grandparents house outside of Albany. It was also a treat to go to the Pizza Hut since they didn't have them in the city back in the 80's. I also had cousins who lived in Ellenville and we would go trout fishing and visit the Schrade knife factory and I would always get a small pocketknife to take back to city with me.
