No HR department means there are pretty weak labor and wage laws in place, and possibly sets them up for litigation. Nobody seems to have the smarts to educate themselves, because as soon as the mics are clicked off, you can be held accountable for how you treat people.

One major issue with working in Florida. It's a "right to work" state, which means they can fire you with little to no reason and at places like the BRN it allows them to treat employees unfairly with almost no repercussions unfortunately.

I will agree that the walleh should have just accepted or declined any offer and just let it go. The employer has all the power.

The walleh won a contest that was billed as win spice's job, and that wasn't delivered, that can be his only gripe. If it wasn't in writing, then Bubba can do whatever he wants.

I didn't want to sound like a dick and take a shot at Florida, but I used to work here for a company out of FL and they were always trying to not pay overtime, pay production and not hourly, and play games with trucks registered out of state.

Nah, take all the shots you want . I have dealt with this "right to work" bullshit my entire adult life. Luckily, I've been with more good companies than bad, but the bad ones definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth.

To Walleh, good luck man, hopefully you get on with a professional company where your skills and talents are utilized and you are paid a fair wage for what you do.
