The electoral college is a powerful thing. Technically, congressional representatives are not required to vote the way their district / constituent majority decides. They could cast their electoral vote however they want. That won't guarantee their re-election and might make them sort of unpopular, though.

Then again, most Americans are ignorant pieces of shit, so they probably wouldn't even care.
