So glad this caller asked about voting for third party candidates. They'll never have a shot if people automatically have a self-defeatist attitude. Vote for whom you believe in, no matter if you think they'll win or lose.

Look at it this way... You're going to waste your vote on a Democrat or a Republican, so why not "waste" your vote on the guy you actually want to win?

A million times this. This is exactly what I've been saying lately. People cry that there's no good alternatives, but when given the chance to look into a third party candidate they agree with, they shuffle it off and say it's pointless and they will never have a chance. So they just sit on their ass and bitch. That's why Bubba talking about writing himself in/placing a joke vote pisses me off. THAT is throwing away your vote.

I left Colin out of my rant because he really didn't say too much wrong during the segment. It's quite obvious that Rick and Shannon think...

1. Being gay is a choice.
2. Someone can influence you to be gay.

I don't think they necessarily believe #1 is the case, or I'll at least give them the benefit of the doubt. But Rick with zero basis to assume her mom pressured her into it is stupid as hell. If that's an assumption he holds of lesbian mothers in general, that they pressure their daughters to hate men/be attracted to women, then he's got issues.

And this idea that a kid doesn't know who they're attracted to/their sexuality because of their lack of sexual experience is even dumber. It's like asking Shannon and Rick if they knew they were straight at that age. God damn right they did. And they didn't (I'm assuming) have to fool around with teenage boys to realize it. And if they did, that's their business.
