If we work off percentages I would think that we probably have more assholes in general in the overall population of the species, but at the same time we also have a lot more fucking people. That coupled with the way "news" media works now, sensationalism and story time journalism, of course we are exposed to it more than ever before.

Like you say Chob, we have a lot more awareness of this shit since we're spoonfed it all day long. Bubba, Billy, Cowhead, along with other FM jocks just feed off the same trough as everyone else, and are sadly, part of the problem.

edit: That said, can't really blame them for talking about it, as most FM Talk show content is filler.
