I hope the fan shows happen, good or bad.

I just don't see how it can provide enough material for two hours unless you have some sort of debate/difference of opinion. Everyone raving about things will get boring.

There was only one show prior to take as a model and it was years ago on another service with another host and a totally different feel to everything. Then again, most likely being only one or two shows, it might not be an issue, but who knows. There's a reason Spice was always hesitant when it was brought up.

He claims he used twitter to do it, then doesn't remember the @username.

His actual Twitter account is pretty inactive. https://twitter.com/isles919191 There's only one tweet. But he did fool them, I'll give him that. BTLS doesn't dig like they used to on old shows.

Maybe they have stress we don't know about. Yesterday I have a recorded clip of Bubba saying that radioIO is going to cancel him.

Fan Show

I hope the fan shows happen, good or bad.

Any show is worth a go, but if it sucks, they shouldn't linger it; just kill it. "Fan" shows doesn't usually work in the traditional methods. Even the "Superfan Roundtable" isn't that good really and I would imagine they had all of the benefits in the world. Any fan show would also have to be original as hell; it would have to be a new concept at the same time.

He did say that, but he had very little details. Haha, after getting my balls busted about college, I'd hate to say it... but I'll admit it anyway: I've had a class in social media and this guy was no expert. I did some research; trust me, he's full of shit. But you know... oh well. It worked.

Yes, I have it recorded, I started recording the shows when I knew that me and Mickey were going to be on the air. I'm working on doing podcasts, so I'm trying to gather clips and I was surprised when I heard it.

I'm not a big SFRT fan, but if they did something new and very different with the Bubba Fan Roundtable, I'd listen. There's just a lot of problems I see cropping up.

Say it were to become a regular/semi-regular show, and obviously Heather couldn't do it full time unless she Skyped in or something, which is impractical. Who would host? You could have someone at the BRN do it, but it sort of goes against the point of a fan show. Said fan would have to have some on air polish to do it.

Mutt tries to get a variety of fans on his show, but there's a lot of recurring people. Which is natural being that they need to make it to the NYC studios. But if the show is in Tampa with less new people visiting/passing through the area, and a smaller pool of people wanting/willing to do it, it would eventually turn into a bit of an echochamber.

And that goes with my point that if you get fans that are really close to Bubba, people will be less likely to be critical. With SFRT there's some separation as most of them don't meet Stern and aren't in his studio. It's hard to be objective when getting the VIP treatment, and people will feel like dicks criticizing someone that invites them into their on air home.

On the flip side, there's people that hate everything Bubba does and he'll never do right in their eyes, and they're sure to call in. You need a middle ground where people can debate things without the conversation being dragged down to insults and petty bullshit.

Yes, something entirely new would have to be designed. The best thing is to find people that are both fans and talented and have them pitch ideas. New people sometimes means new ideas. Something staying with the military theme; maybe bringing in people who listened to Bubba in the army on a weekly basis... stuff like that. It's possible, but basic: "We're fans" will never work.

Right now Hootie's on the horn. Hogan is great, he just doesn't give a shit. I met him briefly in St. Pete; he was in our office building. Friendly guy.
