Stand your ground is interpreted by the jury, not the judge. The jury determines if stand your ground applies, just like they decided that it didn't apply in the case of that black chick who shot a warning shot at her bf. the prosecution argued that stand your ground didn't apply because she was able to escape the situation and the jury went with it.
That's not what Hayslett said. He said it is a separate hearing before a judge to determine.
