30k a year is 15/hr, I know people that live "okay" on that much. I remember when I made that kind of money and lived decently, relatively speaking. Wasn't rich, but my electric never got cut off either.

For real, some people just can't manage money to save their lives. I remember my first job making $4.25/hr back in 1993 fresh out of high school, I was able to get an apartment (with a roommate) and a POS car, just being out of my parents house was a win for me.
