The Shannon Burke Show Listening Thread!

I think he's done honestly, you can tell he's tired and ready to move on. I'd like to see him go out with a bang and become a major topic of conversation again but the effort being put into those channels by everyone from Stern to Sirius XM is dismal. For all the rightous anger over people being misled to pay for what would eventually be free, in my opinion the programming this week has been stellar on io.

How does a "fledgling" (not floundering, in case you're reading this Bubba ) internet company manage to get two full time shows in a matter of months when the Sirius XM juggernaut Howard 101 can only manage to get an occasional show from an obscure podcaster?

Sirius XM could easily get a Burke or Legere, someone that maybe doesn't have massive nationwide name recognition, but is hungry to put on a good show. The only reason they don't is that Sirius XM isn't banking on that kind of show being a major part of the future of the company.

I don't question the programming on IO, just switching up the game and fucking the EE's and Lieutenants. I love the show(s) and want to see Bubba's channels on IO succeed, so I'm PERSONALLY willing to turn my head while they use my $$$ to try and make a go of this. But I won't ignore the fact that what they have done is flat out wrong. I'll just move on from it.

Siriux XM is not interested in good content. They would have been perfectly willing to let Howard walk, too. Howard was the one, IMHO, that made the deal to allow his people to find other work before things shut down for good for them at Sirius XM. I think Burke and Ledge are working for way less than they'd normally command to try and be in on the ground floor of a successful IO. Kudos to both of them.

Back to Howard, well, if he's done, he doesn't owe us anything. If he only did the shows during the Billy West era, he'd be a legend. People don't know it from these shitty shows now, but he was a fucking FUNNY guy back in the day, and entertained our asses off. I'm happy I grew up with the dude. Enjoy your trophy wife, your money and your Hamptons palace, Howard! You earned it all!
