What I read today is, no matter what the decision today would be, it will be going to the Italian Supreme Court. However, if the verdict was overturned as it was, she is legally free to leave the country. She would have to be extradited back to Italy for any impending legislation. And the U.S. is not one to extradite citizens to other nations for trial.
