I think a lot of people would welcome a salary cap in baseball.

salary caps are a myth, in the nfl everyone pays up to the cap and they manipulate contracts to adjust for cap hits.

in the mlb, there isn't even a minimum salary cap, and the teams that don't spend get the lion's share of the luxury tax. they pocket profits and pocket the tax.

But in NFL all teams share TV revenue, which is a big difference between say NY and TB or any other small town market.
