3) Bring home all of our troops to guard the border - No way. As a former soldier myself, I would much rather be overseas than down near Mexico. I've been to both and never want to go back to Mexico again IN MY LIFE!!!

We have to have troops deployed overseas, as a contingency to say the least! But we need to abandon this nation building bullshit missions we are doing with our troops. Has never worked, and never will. Period!

Ge the fuck out of the mid-east, except in attack/defense positions. Fuck Iraq, Fuck Afghan! Who the fuck would want to be stationed there, even if it was peaceful like being in Europe?

Using our troops to secure our border isn't possible, unless we are willing to setup a DMZ the length of our border! Our military isn't in the business of police business, so for them to do this, the entire border length would need to be one huge training center, at least 50 miles wide. That will never happen.

Military assets can be used to help secure it however.

They have no where to operate there!! Most of it is private land, or restricted areas even our border patrol can't drive on. Unless there is a DMZ where mechanized infantry battalions can go operate...aint gonna happen! Sorry bro!!

I like to think the best of our troops, but you guys heard that story the other day about the border agents that were arrested for taking bribes to let drugs and illegals through. You don't think some low level soldiers making dogpiss jones wouldn't do the exact same thing?
