I can't make any sense of Arbitron. Ratings can't conceivably sway that much from week to week. Radio audiences on FM are creatures of habit, and many stick around no matter what unless there's a radical format change.

on the spice issue - I'm not commenting cause I haven't heard it.

On the RadioIO front - perhaps it's wrong to say Bubba is to blame. That's not exactly what I was trying to say.

My point is that they have created a tiny empire - everyone on the same team now. There's no sabians or greensteins going against them

SO... by that logic there shouldn't be issues that can be pushed off on someone - if one person is guilty the whole team is guilty... I guess that's what I was trying to say.

You can't say - oh it's radioIO's fault when bubba is part of the owners of IO (if I understand that correctly - is it bubba or bean or a company between the two?)

call me crazy - maybe it's a lot different down there but:

up here you listen to pretty much whatever you can get to come in the clearest.

I mean there's 1 alternative station, about 5 classic rock, 3 adult alternative aka I'm rotting a slow death in an office with artificial lighting and this music is just making it fucking worse. and then there's maybe a couple classical/jazz stations...

so I mean, up where I am I get 1 choice... the alternative station.

I find American FM audiences are into routine. Like the people that listened to whoever replaced Howard out of habit but bitched about "missing him." There's a ton of other examples. And now with the PPM if you walk through a supermarket and Elevator Music 101.7 is playing, it registers, whether you want to listen to that shit or not. So it's all about having a station play more places with a stronger signal.

Here's what Bubba should do. Strap up some bigass speakers blasting his show on cars that drive around his markets, hoping the inaudible tones in the signal get picked up by PPM wearing folks.
