To the casual listener Bubba makes a strong case about the demise of his career being based around the Hogan sex tape. But to the long time listeners there are definitely alternate reasons as to why he is where he is right now.

That's a good question, maybe Hootie don't want to talk to him anymore at all.
I don't think that's the case or else he would have said "Hogan doesn't want to talk to me anymore" not that they couldn't speak, don't you think? There are some conspiracy theories (floating around here mostly) that those two are in cahoots. Think about it, why was Bubba able to be let off the hook for only $5k at the beginning of all this?
Also remember when Bubba was called into court doing the Gawker trial and he pled the 5th so he didn't either perjur himself by lying and saying Hootie didn't know he was being taped or ruined Hogan's case by telling the truth and saying he did in fact know he was being filmed...

Some of us think this is a well orchestrated "long con" where at least Bubba, Hogan and Spice all originally were working together and when the payday wasn't as high as they hoped it went sideways and Calta somehow got involved.
Do you remember years ago Bubba used to say several times a show "Hey Brent, what's the best way for a celebrity to become relevant again? And Brent would say "leak a sex tape Bubba!"
Just like when he would ask Brent several times a show "Hey Brent, what's a cuckold?" He can't help himself when it comes to stuff like this, at least in my opinion he can't.

That Garabo drop "Calta gets syndicated because of this, in a year he'll be on in Atlanta..."
Is one of the most hilarious lines I've ever heard on radio.
