"The Nielsen company and the owner of a chain of radio stations say they are investigating allegations of ratings tampering involving the radio host Bubba The Love Sponge Clem.
On Friday, both Nielsen and Beasley Media confirmed the investigation. Beasley Broadcast Group, which owns 53 radio stations in 12 markets and is based in Naples, Florida, wouldn't say whether Clem would remain on the air.
The Tampa Bay-area host was not on his popular morning show on Friday. He told WTVT-TV that he was unaware of the allegations and was off the air because he hurt himself in a fall. He could not be reached by The Associated Press.
Nielsen said it is aware of evidence of attempted ratings distortion activity in the Tampa radio market and would provide further details once they are available."

I'm more willing to believe this news article than Bubba's word on something; especially since he joked about having a 'PPM shed' just a month or two ago on the air, so for him to deny that he was unaware of the allegations is such b.s. I don't think for a minute that he 'hurt himself in a fall' and that was why he was off-air on Friday.
I do not know if Bubba rigged ratings or not, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did. He is just that sort of person. At least, the kind he portrays himself to be while on the radio.
The only 'truth' that matters at this point until further evidence presents itself is if Bubba is live on the air on Monday or if it just another 'Best of' element.
