Took a cruise by the main route to work that has been closed for 4 months. Base coat of asphalt was laid down today. Should open before the end of the month.

How much time will it save you? or is it just more the hassle?

Saves a solid 6-8 minutes and I avoid a congested intersection or a school zone on the alternate routes. Basically time to stop for coffee and not be late.

Nice!! Congestion and traffic issues on the way to/from work suck!! bad enough having to go in the first place!!

Why not just make coffee at home and have a travel cup?

BTW Butler, you see Obama had in a statement yesterday "there is no such thing as shovel-ready projects" Magine that!! There were sure a hell of a lot of them when he was selling the stimulus.

Well, even without that, you'd still be needed, prolly more so to be creative on how to pay for those projects!!
