The Shannon Burke Show Listening Thread (Bitch I'm BACK! Edition)
Dan Falato (his old producer, who used to produce Steve Dahl's show) already told RodFromBayside (who was a regular caller into their show), but no one has spilled the beans yet. Whatever it is, it's a paying gig for Falato, no clue if Bochetti is back or not.
OK, ok. Ice Bucket Challenge. Sigh. I have to admit it I thought the idea and the cause it supported was worthy. It is. Then all the cynics came out of the wood work, getting tired of it, people doing it for the 'look at me' factor, the 'wasting of ice and water', and the fact that the charity who receives donations doesn't pay out all of the money it takes in. However, I think I get it. It's not about any of those things. If you've ever known anyone with a terminal disease, you might get it too. These are good people and deserve to live like the rest of the healthy people in this world. The worst feeling in the world you can have is maybe knowing you're going to die and nobody cares or you'll be forgotten. This Challenge IMO is about the awareness and to tell these people we're thinking of them. It's the most important thing to them. You have to be a pretty cold hearted soulless person to not be able to just let them have their moment.
You know Sam Kinison's bit on Haji? Yes you do do lie like you do a lot.
Know it? I know where you can get it. "Louder Than Hell" track 10, one of his greatest bits. "Why don't you feed him, you're only five feet away! Why don't ya give him one of your sandwiches ya packed for the day, huh Bob?"
