I have had venison and it's not awful, but it's always fresh frozen. Just like regular beef isn't it better to eat it as fresh as possible and not frozen?

Yep. Eat the loins and steaks within a week. Freeze the roasts and grind the rest for sausage.

It used to rattle the whole trailer and that thing would compress your chest like a mofo when it went off. Plus the 6 foot flame that shoots out the front is pretty cool too.
