I dealt with a shitty insurance company once.

I was a customer for like 2 years. Got one ticket and they tried to up my rate by 4x

They said if we refused the rate increase they would cancel my policy (which is bad up here cause it makes it impossible to get another policy for some reason)

so basically they were trying to blackmail me into paying over 8k a year for insurance... (my rate should have been about 2000k a year as I was still a young driver kinda)

I ended up shopping for a new policy and got one cheaper then I was currently paying WITH the ticket included - they didn't care 1 bit about it.
