that's why I said hey why not build something more like what netas posted but with a deck underneath it? our problem is where he wants to put it is on a slope... the backyard slopes away from the house... well drops.

So he wants a walkway from the house the stay level with the backyard but out the hill - so the gazeebo would have to be raised way up on stilts... dumb ass IMO especially if I get drunk and fall off

so I suggested a graduated step down thing with the platform and perogi thing I saw a really cool picture of one that had wooden seats and a swing and a firepit built right in the deck

something VERY similar to this but squared and only one swing - 2 sided with seats - other sides open is kinda my design.the view is only to the south really so you could build up the back.
