The most buzz I've seen about Bubba since 2006 when he joined Howard 101 was during the sex tape thing. The publicity didn't adversely affect Cox and people were glued to the radio when the thing first broke. I'm sure they enjoyed the ratings bump.

I get that, and you make a really good point. But I'm saying that, if anything, Cox benefited from it. But yeah, corporate America doesn't deal with that kind of thing well. I still say the Hogan's Beach remote with Drew and other appearances has a lot to do with trying to appease Hogan over that situation and Bubba subsequently tearing into him on air.

I think so. Drama gets listeners. But that whole thing cost Cox money as well since they settled with Schnitt. If they were going to can him over anything, not that it would be justified, it would've made more sense to do it over that.

The weird thing was they stood behind him on that one though. Despite them settling with the midget, they were in full support publicly.

I agree. It sent mixed messages. And then they run promos about pointless lawsuits from their competitors acting all badass after they settled.
