Well, few things you can do, without going to those sites, that IMO are a ripoff.

1. Search for and delete ANY .tmp files on ur system (especially in ur web browser directories.
2. Get sumthin like regclean..it will go through and clear out all kinds of useless shit in ur registry. Pay attention to what it is deleting though. I've never had any issues with it. There are other apps like this as well.
3. Defrag ur drives, this cause very slow drive response time

That should take care of most of ur issues. If not, re install the OS.
