Might have been 1979-80ish, but during the gas shortage, hostage deal with Iran, gas was five bucks a gallon. You look it up.

What the hell do you need 100's or thousands of bait fish for? Catch a couple dozen usually good for the time we would go out, like to the Skyway. Never really counted. It is cool though to pull up a fully loaded Sabiki..kids loved it when they were young.

You grab them by the handful, give em a sqeeze and fling them into the water to get the bite going. Doing that throughout the day takes a lot of bait mang. Plus I let the lucky ones go at the end of the day.
