I can tell you what happens when something gets stolen from you and ends up in a pawn shop. Once a week a police detective hits each pawn shop and downloads all the files of pawns and items sold to said shop. If they get a hit they notify the victim, place the item on hold and go to the store where the victim has to buy the item back from the shop minus the interest and when the perp is caught they have to reimburse the victim the cost of the paid pawn and also have to reimburse the shop the interest. Very true, it's easy to track anything that gets pawned with a serial number, jewelry, unless it is hella unique is virtually impossible to track at a pawn shop.

It is basically just legal dealing in stolen property! If you or I were to sell stolen shit...we'd go to jail!
