That plus the problem with "locking" some lines of pit bulls seem to have make them very dangerous even when the dog themselves don't mean to be.

I am not a "pit bill hater" I just think that at least down here in my area they get a pass more often than the news would like us to believe with their fearmongering. I also personally would not have that breed around my daughter.

Having said that, my mother's dog, a blue, protected me from before I was born, and adored me. Protected me as much if not more than any of my rots did. Never had a reason to fear her. So I do have good experience around the breed.

I also was attacked by my neighbor's pit mix when I was a bit older for taking out the trash. Apparently putting the can at the edge of the driveway pissed him off

I agree - it's just common sense to not let a beast with the power to kill around your child. That's not a slight against the pit bull, it's just common sense. While a pit bull may not MEAN or INTEND to hurt your child, it's physical form just makes it more of a threat. Owning a pit is a matter of just being a responsible person.

Have you seen this "Pit Bulls & Parolees" show? That's exactly what I am implying when I say "Human Trash". They're what's WRONG with pit bull ownership.

I liken it to having a bull shark in your swimming pool. A friendlier bull shark that you can sometimes play catch with, but a bull shark nonetheless. Obviously I'm overdoing it here a bit but I definitely get what you mean there.

That's glorified, self-serving white trash to the max. The mom and her two daughters are all tatted up and sound like they smoke two packs a day. They'll bitch every once in a while about their husband/dad who's locked up for being a fuck-up. Then, they think they're doing the public a service by purposefully hiring undependable parolees. Well, one of the key things you folks are missing on "pit bulls", is prolly 90%+ of these so called "pit bull" bites kid stories, are not pure pits, they are cross bread with who knows what.

White trash does not pay $1500-3000 for for a pure pit, which is what they go for for a decent bloodline, like Colby, Goin Light, etc.
