Reason: For Drew
Lets talk about teens that are prescribed shit medicine by their doctors, snap, and kill themselves, then it gets blamed on bullying, and Bubba bitches about the bullies, instead of the meds. Oooooops wait just went to reality land instead of k5ville sorry.
Religion isn't even really the problem, the biggest problem is uppity assholes. There are plenty of religious people who see no problem with pot.
The 'puritanical' viewpoint that some people have just refuses to die it seems. Prostitution is bad because the tv told me so, weed is bad because tv told me so, but I'm gonna go drink this jack daniels because the tv said that was alright!
my opinion is this dan, politicians are afraid to come out for legalization and lose the hypocritical christian voters, who have some crazy idea that weed is some big sin,but go home and crack a bottle of wine and use it to wash down there handful of pills
I think its less afraid and more they have no reason to right now, it benefits politicians absolutely 0 to go against the private and public prison industries, all the sheriff and police departments across the country and so on who make tons of money off busting teens with a joint or ruining a families life because mommy left a bong on the porch.
Marijuana is a huge moneymaker for these people, it also makes tons of money for cartels, which in turn gives the government more reason to fund their own operations. They have no reason to legalize it as the taxes gained do not remotely compete with the amount of money spent keeping people in jail or prison, on probation, in "drug classes", etc.
