Sadly in this area, the shitty cops far outnumber the good officers. That is a national trend also though... Whenever I meet a decent officer I like to get their card from them. I've made 3 or 4 calls this year specifically to praise officers for their hard work to their superiors.

I'm sure it doesn't mean much to the departments but I'd like those guys to get at least a little recognition for not taking the easy way out and being an asshole.
