Canadian authorities are investigating the most Canadian crime of all time, the theft of up to $30 million worth of maple syrup from a warehouse in Quebec. The theft was noticed during an inventory check last weekend, but the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers kept the literally sticky-fingered thievery quiet, in the hopes the cops would be able to quickly bust a black market syrup seller. No, we're not kidding. "Obviously those people stole the maple syrup to sell it somewhere," Anne-marie Granger Godbout, the executive director of the Federation, said. Wait, so we shouldn't be buying syrup out of the back of this dude's van? Huh.
