Oh yeah, you are up in the area that Len and Betty Hartman fished in the 60's. They are some legends from the NY area. You ever hit the St. Lawrence Seaway?

No never have,mostly the Hudson and some ponds lakes in the Adirondacks,+ there are some good largmouth lakes within 20 minutes,some good trout streams too
