i have the headset mic combo but only on skype I can't hear through the headphones. I call on air so i've done it different ways. Right now, I put the headset on the table, the mic is good but need a "good" mic. I have my speakers down but enough to hear whoever is talking. ppl say it sounds ok but I want the headphone option.

Did you choose ur headphones in the audio setup of Skype itself?

yeah andy I have a small analog mixer and a cheap condenser mic prolly got 200$ into the stupid thing
