I do think we need MASSIVE changes in the "education" system, but giving some dumbass teenager the choice to just drop out is not the answer.

we had an off campus program for guys like me,I got my GED and went to work wasn't the best idea but better than nothing at all

I had my own car I paid for with cash at 16, worked a job, drove myself to school, cooked my own food, paid my own bills, etc.

Ended up quitting school in 10th grade so I could do internet high school through the state and save me a bunch of gas.

But then again, NeTaS, we're not the usual dumbasses coming up now sadly.

I was doing fine in standard school up until they wanted me to actually do homework, and not just ace tests, bastards.

After football season in 10th grade I quit. Then I went to a school for druggies and dropouts. Had the same requirements, but you did it at ur own pace. I finished rest of 10th and 11-12 in 7 months. By the time the rest of my class graduated, I ad already been to basic training and my communications school in the Army.

I never went,during football season I would go on friday's so I could play but that was about it

I almost joined the army milk kinda wish I went through with it now,they told me I couldn't fly copters just fix em and I backed out

Copy Japan's education system. After middle school you have to take entrance exams for high school, different exam for each school. If you don't get in to one then you go to trade school or get a job.

Fuck it, we should just go back to the apprentice system. You do basic schooling up to a certain point then you buddy up with someone who will put up with you and teach you a trade. There aren't enough blacksmiths around anyhow.

I was originally going to go in the Air Force. They said I could do any job except Accounting specialist or general accounting specialist. Guess they didn't trust me with money!

Had it all set to go to the AF academy to be a pilot. I was only 17 and they wouldn't let me dad sign me in, because my mom was my legal guardian on the divorce decree. Well, i had no fuckin clue where she was. Went to the Army national Guard and they said, no problem, your dad can sign you up.

When i went to the AF recruiter to get my paperwork they were like, well if the Army will let your dad sign you up, we will too. I said FUCK YOU! I should have swallowed my pride and did it, but I was stubborn.
