Nah, just use a sniifer app that will decrypt most of the passwords people use, like WPA or a lot still use WEP. Easy as shit. WPA-2 with AES is pretty strong adn not worth the effort to try those.

Well, most decent AP's have the capability of "repeater mode" This is nothing more than a layer 2 bridge (switch) in the wired world. Same network concepts of the OSI layer model.
