So yeah - I got fired from my job 2 days before Christmas and am now among the ranks of the unemployed. Finding a job sure is fun in the worst economy in decades - one that has the highest unemployment in decades, too.

What kind of work are you looking to get into? Thinking of starting your own business or just looking to get into a certain field?

I hear ya on the job market - it is fucking brutal out there right now.

I'm looking to just find some damn thing that pays something close to what I used to earn (if not more).

with the website the hope is that it eventually takes off, but I don't see that happening any time soon, so no, starting my own business is not in the plans.

Unemployment will be around for another 5 or 6 months...and, if they kick in the federal back up again, longer. But I don't want to be unemployed for 5 or 6 months, quite frankly.
