You know, if you actually take decent care of a kid, especially a kid with past trauma or a special needs kid, the money a month doesn't even really begin to "make up for it". My parents did special needs foster care when I was a young kid and into my teens as I was an only child and we had the resources (barely) to help someone else. Those kids come in all different types just like everyone else and it is rough to hear some of the stuff they go through. I'm sure it is only worse now.

I can only imagine what that kid went through that lead to all this...

My girl fought like hell to keep our little one out of foster care, I know there are good foster parents but man I couldn't take the chance.

Yeah the whole system is a big bowl of sadness and anger for me. DCF in FL and CPS nationwide is network of nightmares and broken humans at this point. What a happy topic.
