Billy is auditioning to be Bubba's new best friend. Might be a tough sell and another host may throw a wrench into things.

I wish they'd had let Gary Johnson debate.

Ironic you just said that. I just sent a tweet to Billy asking him to consider Gary Johnson or Jill Stein. Since he doesn't know who to vote for, perhaps he should think beyond the Republican/Democrat false duopoly.

Yeah, same with Burke. And Bubba to an extent even though he's open to the idea. Everyone wants another option but isn't willing to make that step and make third parties more relevant.

The Bubba "vote for me" thing kind of irritates me in that regard but I doubt many people will follow suit.

I get really irritated when people use the old "wasted vote" analogy when considering third party candidates. How is it any more of a "wasted" vote than one you would cast for a Democrat or Republican? If I'm going to "waste" a vote, I should at least spend it on a candidate I actually like and believe would do a good job! If enough people actually voted like they wanted and not to avoid "wasting" a vote, perhaps some damn things would change in Washington!

All votes are wasted votes till we actually start forcing change at a local level first.

I'll agree with that statement to some extent. You should vote your conscience at all levels of government, not just in a federal capacity.

Thing is, until you wake people up locally, there is no possible way you're going to change the top. It is a climb up a pyramid, not a run downhill.

Exactly. Hell if someone votes Democratic in a "red state," or Republican in a "blue state" you could make the argument that's a waste. But the idea of red and blue states is stupid in general because it generalizes a large population.

Basically all I'm getting at is until we are the majority you're not going to take out the entrenched politicians. The whole system is almost an artform, and the various systems woven quite tightly. Widespread change will take a large number of americans actually giving a shit, so it is a tough fight.

I can almost hear Burke's laugh and the Imperial March from here.

And that's the problem. We are in the minority. Those who don't see the big picture and really don't give a shit are the majority. I don't see it changing any time soon, but we have to still try.

Such bullshit. If a kid sticks up for himself he's solving a problem when the school can't or won't.
